Starting my major project, I didn't really have an ideas for what I will base my project on so I decided to sit down and do some brainstorming of any current compelling or challenging issues or something which interests me which would be engaging and exciting to base my project on

Some of the brainstorming techniques I might make use of for my initial brainstorming are:

Mindmapping

I decided to do most of my ideation using mind mapping as it is one of my favourite ways to generate and investigate ideas as it allows me to explore a wide range of possibilities, unexpected connections and innovative solutions.

Big Issues In The Next 5 Years

The first area I looked at was topics that were expected to upcoming issues within the next 5 years. These also linked quite closely to current world issues and how these issues may develop or adapt over the years.

Some of the topics which stood out to me here were:

Sustainable Development Goals

I also picked out and ideated around the Sustainable Development Goals. By looking at the SDGs, I am looking at topics where design can help shape experiences that can make a difference in people’s lives and the planet. Thinking about these global challenges helps me identify issues with a sense of empathy and be able to design solutions that feel responsible, inclusive and impactful. It’s a way of using design thinking not just to solve problems, but to help build a better future.
