The horrible histories game is an educational board game based on the Horrible Histories series where the layers get to travel through history, answering questions about each historic period. This game is split up into 4 main colour coordinated quadrants with each quadrant having their own colour coordinated booklet of questions. Starting in the middle, players will have to navigate through Savage Stone age, Rotten Romans, the Smashing Saxon, Measly Middle Ages, Terrifying Tudors and Gorgeous Georgians and finally onto the Vile Victorians and Terrible 20th Century.

Each turn, a player throws three dice which is combined to indicate the question number to be asked from the colour coded question booklets and the first person to reach the present day wins.

I really liked the layout and simplicity of this game as it allows children to learn about historical times but through play and friendly competition. The layout is really simplistic with lots of illustrations of each time period which children are able to identify what they are such as the Tudors or can recognise from watching the tv show. It is really playful and attractive to children without being too over the top which allows them to stay engaged with the game. I also really liked that each quadrant has 666 questions meaning no matter how many times you play the game, the likelihood of getting the same question is slim so there is always a chance to learn new things. I will be using this board game as inspiration when creating my own board game app.
