Emma-Louise Amanshia speaks to Nicole Kozlova
15th October 2025
In the interview, Nicole Kozlova, a professional footballer for Glasgow City FC and the Ukrainian National Team discusses her dual career as both a player and a data analyst working with Twelve Football, a Swedish AI-based football analytics company.
She explains how AI is transforming scouting, performance tracking and player development and using AI tools allows analysts instantly generate ranked lists of players such as wingers or strikers based on chosen metrics like age, height, performance statistics and market value. These tools allow clubs to scout talent globally, analyse opponents before matches and evaluate players’ strengths and weaknesses in detail.
Their system, Earpiece, uses machine learning to process data from thousands of matches worldwide, identifying patterns in player performance and generating detailed reports. The AI can rank players globally, evaluate specific metrics such as passing accuracy and positioning, and even translate complex data into natural language summaries, making insights clear and accessible for coaches, scouts, and players. As Nicole explains, “This tool allows you to scout players from all over the world.”
In essence, this interview showcases how AI-driven systems are bridging the gap between performance data and tactical intelligence, empowering both clubs and players to make faster, evidence-based decisions that enhance competitive performance
