After researching inspiration, I began developing my user flows digitally which allowed me to map out the overall journey users would take. Creating these flows digitally helped me visualise more clearly how the app would function in practice and how each stage connects within the wider experience.

The initial flows focused primarily on defining the main sections of the app such as onboarding, journey preparation, play and discovery, resources and settings and establishing how users move between these core areas. They provided a strong high-level overview of the app’s architecture and ensured that each feature had a logical place within the overall experience.

From this I fleshed out my user flows from a broad structural mapping to a more refined, detailed and user centred flow. These updated flows show greater depth and specificity within each pathway such as breaking down the onboarding section into more distinct steps as well as further developing the appointment and journey flows into detailed, sequential steps that guide the child and parent through preparation, arrival, navigation, waiting and appointment reflection.
