James Round is a freelance infographic designer based in the UK who is known for his work in the design industry creating visual data infographics which are both appealing and engaging and tell a story for several clients. Working alongside industries such as technology, business and healthcare, James takes the more complex information and makes it simpler to understand and digest.
I took a look at some of the infographic work that James produced for clients. One that stood out to me was a piece about the most technically advanced telescope by James Webb. This engaging and detailed infographic displays the features of the telescope and the 8 point star features. He uses such a lovely colour pallet for this piece which really complements the infographics and encourages people to want to learn more about this telescope and space.
Another infographic James Round created is “The Many Moons Of Jupiter”. An infographic based on the moons that in 1610 Galileo Galilei saw through his telescope in the direction of Jupiter. He believed to of seen 4 moons which became known as the Galilean moons which was the first of the collection of Pluto's moons that we know of today. In 2018 Scientists believed to of seen 12 more moons, taking the count up to 16 moons, this was over 400 years after the first discovery. Round has displayed these moons in a very informative way using a small range of colours to make the information stand out and to help differentiate between the different moons
The work of James Round is a great example and will be very inspirational when coming to creating my dashboard when it comes to applying colours and displaying each data element. I will definitely be referring back to some of his work to help develop my ideas.
