When I was working the other day I saw that the packaging of the spar sweets had been updated and that they were now using little icons on them to make each different type of sweet bag uniquely identical. I thought this was really interesting as they were obviously trying to make their sweet packaging more appealing to children who would make their parents buy them as if they couldn’t understand the “big words” they would understand what the logo imply or be attracted by the bright stripy colours.

I though this was relevant to what we were talking about in class and how we can use icons as a visual guide which can tell us lots of information at a quick glance. From any of these bags of sweets, if I saw the icon before the name of the bag of sweets, I would have a good idea of what those sweets might be.
