Hill Street Brand & QR Trail Design
Prepared by Rebekah Leonard
November 2023
Brief
Hill Street is looking to create a new brand identity and interactive QR trail to help tourists as well as locals discover and learn about Hill Streets cultural elements.
A new brand identity will help to build awareness around the area. Hill Street needs a brand identity that is strong so it can attract new visitors who are attracted to come to the area. The identity will be designed around the cultural heritage, the bar/ pub culture and the community of Hill Street
The aim of the QR code trail is to introduce people to the cultural elements of Hill Street through a scavenger trail with each location allowing you to try to beverages of that particular pubs culture. This will hopefully help to influence others to visit Hill Street and experience the culture as well as bring more business to the street.
Experience
In the past I have worked on multiple branding projects where I used user experience research to help identity the reasons behind a rebranding, address the issues that need solving and produce a number of potential solutions that could be used to help combat the issues.
I will approach the project using the following approach to help ensure success:
I will take time to research and understand the area, your competitors and how they operate in order to be as prepared and informed before beginning the project. I will work closely with the target audience, current users and businesses and create a set of requirements for producing the correct solution.
I will sketch and wireframe multiple solutions, taking into consideration the feedback I have received. This requires a lot of focused work but also communication with the team and their visions for the project too. Creating this new identity and touchpoint is a very fast paced iterative process meaning I will be repeating the process multiple times to create multiple iterations of the project until you and I are happy with the final outcome.
Throughout this project, I will be continuously testing the product to ensure I can discover and fix any potential flaws or faults in the design. This requires me to require another set of eyes from my team and the target user audience to perform goal based tests.
After I have completed the above, I will get your signed approval to enable the solution to go live.
Rebekah Leonard will be focusing solely on the UX and UI aspects of the project including user research.
Representatives from Hill Street Belfast will be providing the feedback on all aspects of the development process of the brand and QR trail. They will also provide any required assets or materials to be used in the project such as existing font, colour schemes and brand standards.
It is necessary that Hill Street provide the following assets and resources. An inability to do so in a timely or complete manner may lead to the project being delayed or unsuccessful.
