From my initial ideation. I had chosen 2 topics: “Dark UX Patterns & Their Harm on Children” & AI & tactical analysis in football. Both topics are very different from each other but both had really interesting areas I could write my dissertation on.
I started off by using my previous MuDG graph to deep dive into artificial intelligence and its impact on football and football analytics. I had started by looking at it for womens football specifically but also thought that may restrict me when coming to research so also looked at football as a whole.
Using this tool allowed me to quickly gather a real range of ways artificial intelligence was used within not only football but football analytics covering different areas where AI has helped influence:
From reading through a bit for each topic the one that stood out to me the most was AI and its influence on tactical analysis and game strategy. This was interesting to me as being a football fan and player myself, it would allow me to gain a better understanding on how the introduction of AI has aided the game and the way teams prepare, strategise and perform on and off the pitch.
To help get all my ideas straight and clear in my head and to kick off my research, I created a diagram using FigJam of how ai influences football analytics for game strategy pre game, mid game and post game. I also thought this structure could be useful down the line when I am deciding on a structure.
Following on from this, I can also start to look at references which will help me form opinions and can cite in my dissertation
