TIM DEGNER / Infographics / Visual Designer
I first came across Degner while I was researching typefaces to use for my personal brand monogram and became quite intrigued by the variety of work he does.
Tim Degner is an American graphic designer who works on many different areas that we covered during year one of the interaction design course such as infographics, dashboards, icons and typography. His work had opened up opportunities for him to work with Nike, Google, Microsoft, Pepsi and so many other large worldwide companies!
Degner has worked on creating a range of different icon sets such as ones for apple IOS 7, apple app icons. In 2013 he also worked with Microsoft as an infographic and icon designer, working to create the icons which are used in the interfaces of their products especially their software.
Data visualisation is an area which Tim really excels in, from the layouts to the icons he uses. For me personally, his infographics for data visualisation is something I aspire to be able create especially the one he created for nike which I included below.
Degner has worked many positions at Nike for over 8 years, starting off as a graphic and product designer in 2015 and is now a Design Strategy and Storytelling Expert. It is clear from his work for Nike why they wanted to keep him on so long as the story he tells through his work is clear and easily understood.
