I began by exploring typography options for both headings and body text that would complement my word mark. I considered a range of styles, including more expressive and playful typefaces such as Chewy and Bubblegum Sans however, I decided it would be better to choose a typography system that prioritises clarity and readability. This decision was made to ensure the content is easy to read and accessible for children within a hospital setting, while still visually aligning with the friendly tone of the brand.
Below is some of the options and combinations I explored:

From my shortlisted options, I then tested each typeface alongside my word mark to ensure they worked well together and complemented one another.
Testing these options helped me narrow down my final typography choice to Atkinson Hyperlegible or Plus Jakarta Sans.
Both typefaces prioritise clarity, accessibility and comfort when reading on screens making them a very good choice for my brand as in a hospital context where children may feel anxious and need information to be easy to read and understand.
Atkinson Hyperlegible is designed to improve character recognition, making it supportive for younger readers and users with visual or reading difficulties while Plus
Jakarta Sans offers a clean, friendly appearance with soft curves that complement the rounded forms of the Qilka wordmark, helping the interface feel approachable without becoming overly playful.

Atkinson Hyperlegible was chosen for its high readability and accessible letterforms, making content easy to understand for children in a hospital setting while maintaining a calm, friendly tone.
