I started off researching independent of small coffee shop brand in my area to get a better look of what qualities they hold and how I could incorporate these qualities into my coffee shop and how they link to a bank. The first one I looked at was Cargo Coffee. The over feel I got from Cargo and their products they produce is a very minimalistic feel. This could be implemented into my bank and I would like to take inspiration from their product design such as their simplistic looking coffee cups or the idea of prototyping a bag of coffee beans but naming the types of beans after the bank like “Espresso Banking Beans”.
Next I looked at Coffee Rustler, an independent coffee shop to Bangor which locally produces their coffee. I was able to find another good example of how independent coffee shops use simplicity when it comes to décor and their products. This is something which I am sure I could use in mine as most banks can have quite a clean and simplistic feel to them too.
The last one I looked at was prescribed coffee, I had actually not seen of heard of this before so I was able to get a good first impression feel from this one. What I really loved was the overall look and branding, it is definitely a style I would love to implement as it is quite hipster but also so modern and simplistic. Their coffee cups are just white with the coffee company logo while their smoothie cups are just clear with the coffee company sticker. After looking at all the coffee shops this is a common theme and look which I am going to use in mine to create the more simplistic and modern coffee shop- bank feel.
