For Week Eight we were asked to create a PDF Slide Deck which would demonstrate the broad approach of my project. Paul asked us to include the following elements:
Before the critique there was a lot of things I knew I wanted to work on and improve going forward especially within the branding and clarity of what my brand and app purpose is before I moved forward and started to design my app although I knew this critique would help me create some other potential ideas and help improve other aspects going forward.
I received some really good feedback from my peers about the colours I had chosen which I was really pleased about as I had put quite a lot of time into looking at different colours which I think would suit best for the app I want to create. I also received some really good feedback on my branding so far and how it had communicated my ideas really well which I was really pleased about.
I was really happy to hear this from my peers as I know that hopefully the brand will be well understood going forward then.
Points which could be further improved were still quite limited due to it being early stages of the app design and my brand so far being well received although one of the minor points brought up was my logo and experimenting further with it and changing the completely closed box to be more open and flow better with the tick which is an idea I am going to try going forward as I think it could be really nice and look really good alongside my other branding. Someone also said about when the logo is decided it would be nice to have it alongside the wordmark to make the wordmark seem more branded and pull the brand together which is such a good idea. Finally I need to expand my colour palette slightly further, looking at secondary colours as well as accent colours for things such as actions buttons which need pushed or emergency buttons which need to stand out
<aside> 💠I think this critique really helped me to push forward with my wait time app as well as get feedback on whether my branding is effective enough for an app which will be used to help impact peoples lives in a time of urgent need and worry. I have a lot more work to do moving forward but this critique has helped me establish all the groundwork that I can build on.
