This week we did a class critique on our work where Paul and my fellow course members could give me feedback. After the feedback I could then reflect on if I needed/ wanted to make any adjustments or improvements to my designs.

Project One - Point, Line, Plane

Feedback

For my point designs, I chose the topics multiply and proximity. I focused on keeping it simple, something Paul had said about doing when he first gave us the project brief. The overall feedback was good as everyone liked my designs as they were quite clean, effective and conveyed the words well.

Reflection

I am really happy with my multiply frames as they represent the topic really well although after if I was to do this project again, I think I would like to experiment and research further with my proximity frames and try to make it slightly more complex and exciting.

Feedback

I think I got the best response from my line designs, using lines to create Symmetric and Asymmetric letters from the alphabet. I got lots of positive feedback such as ‘really nice use of creating a type with shapes love it’ and ‘really interesting use of letters and their qualities’.

I also got the formative feedback that I could use a grid layout to space and create a better look and meaning behind my designs. Something I am going to experiment before final hand-in.

Reflection

After receiving the feedback, I want to experiment with grid structure on my designs to make them cleaner and better spaced. I think this will help improve my design further.
